The story behind Lovehair

Lovehair was started by Jo Irving in September 2006, after 10 years in the hairdressing business as a senior stylist and salon owner.

"Originally it was a way for me to do what I love doing and spend time with my children"

Jo's reputation spread fast and by December 2006, just two months after opening, Jo had a wedding booked for every weekend of 2007.

Secret of success

It's possible that Lovehair is the largest business of it's kind in the UK. We're yet to see one bigger. But why has it been so successfull. In jo's words.

Customer service, 100% reliability and a strong team of stylists who understand the need for perfection have helped us build a solid reputation as specialists in bridal hair and make up.

Building a team

Jo is now focused on building a team of the most experienced, reliable and dedicated stylists in the country. We are constantly meeting new stylists who want to join... and we get a lot. If you google "wedding hair jobs", Lovehair are at the top of the list, so they have a lot to choose from:

We don’t just take any one.. We get over 200 applicants a year for a position on the Lovehair team but only a handful get through. Stylists are hand picked for their skill as artists, reliability and friendly nature.

Make up

As a hairdresser at weddings, and after 2 years studying hair and beauty, Jo has a good eye for a good make up artist. In 2008 she hand picked the best that she could find, which allowed her to help brides find a make up stylists to give they look they want.

Training

New for 2010, lovehair have finally responded to the dozens of requests for training. Until now the lovehair training has been exclusivly for Lovehair stylists. These are now open to professionals and individuals wanting to learn more about hair styling for weddings or make up application.
