Hair & Make Up For An Early Autumn Wedding at Millbridge Court in Surrey.

In October I had the pleasure of styling the hair & make up for Kat (Red Carpet stylie!) As well as the hair for her bridesmaids at Millbridge Court in Surrey.  For Kat's eye make up I used a Laura Mercier Caviar stick, they give such a delicious glowy finish that lasts all day and doesn't drop, even when pumping up the Shmokey eye! (TIP: Easy to apply, loads of ... A stylist’s guide to NEVER being late and what to do if you are

Being a great bridal hair and make up artist isn’t just about your creative abilities. Over the next few weeks I will be sharing my thoughts on what makes a great wedding stylist an AWESOME wedding stylist.  As I said in my previous post ; There is no second chance for a wedding. You can’t be late, get lost, get the wrong address, forget your kit. That’s it. You have so many hours to get the bride and her babes ready, looking ... Read more

Stylists – I’m Talking Bridal Agencies, Teams & Franchises

Please note the following post is my personal opinion, it is general and doesn't include everyone. This is based on my own personal experience and is just food for thought. Eat what you like, and leave the rest. It's aimed at stylists, but I hope brides will learn something from it too.. I am writing this for 2 reasons - Firstly, I am often asked how to create a team of stylists, what goes into it and is it a good idea, so I ... Read more

Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does ... Read more

Moroccan Styled Shoot

This shoot was created for and published by Mr & Mrs unique magazine. It took place at the rather fabulous Brixton East, in Brixton I loved working with the guys from Curious Fair to create this beautiful Moroccan inspired look. The flowers are AHHHHMAZING aren't they!? They were as soft as Teddy Bear's ears and were really flexible so blended well with the soft waves in our models hair. I was pretty much left to my own devises when it came to the hair, so it ... Read more

London Bride Hats Shoot

This shoot was for London Bride magazine. It's one of my favorites - I say that a lot but it's definitely in my top 5! I got to change the hair several times to work with each piece. I totally love the pleat and the fishtail plait! Prepping the hair properly, enabled me to do this. The more I played with it the better it got. I used Percy & Reed Volumising mousse to start and Oribe's texturizing spray throughout CREDITS PHOTOGRAPHY: Lucy Davenport,  07876 752495,  www.lucydavenport.co.uk  HAIR: Jo Irving, Lovehair, 0870 446 0746, ...
